Terms of Use
Draft for review. This document has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and will be finalized before public launch. Last updated: October 12, 2026.
These terms govern your use of Carribou (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Using Carribou
- You can explore without an account. To save, share or go beyond free limits you need an account, and you're responsible for activity under it.
- Don't misuse the Service: no scraping, automated bulk requests, attempts to get around limits or security, or using it to break the law.
- We may change, limit or end features, and suspend accounts that break these terms.
Google Maps
Carribou uses Google Maps Platform for maps, places, routes and related data. By using Carribou you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, and Google's use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Information is a guide, not a guarantee
- Place details such as hours, ratings and locations come from third parties and can be wrong or out of date. Check with the place before you go.
- Some text is written with the help of AI and is labeled “AI-assisted summary”. It can contain mistakes. It never states hours, prices or closures as fact.
- Itinerary times and detour estimates are suggestions. Road and travel conditions vary.
Driving safety
Plan before you drive. Don't use Carribou while driving. Carribou doesn't provide turn-by-turn navigation. When you hand a route off to another app, that app's terms apply. Obey traffic laws and road signs at all times.
Your content
You own the trips, notes and other content you create. You give us permission to store and display it to run the Service, including to people you share a link with. Shared links are viewable by anyone who has them until you make the trip private again.
Affiliate links and paid plans
Some links are affiliate links; see our Affiliate disclosure. Bookings are made with the partner, under their terms. If paid plans are offered, pricing and billing terms will be shown before you buy.
Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Carribou is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses from relying on third-party information, travel decisions or bookings made with partners.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continued use means you accept the update. Questions: see the contact details in our Privacy Policy.
